Life in The UK APP Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Life in the UK Test  ·  Last updated: 30/06/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Abdullah Ergun (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the Life in the UK Test mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this policy.

In short: the App is designed to work offline. Your study data (test results, bookmarks, settings) is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. We do not require an account and do not ask for your name, email, or address. The limited data that is collected is handled by trusted third-party services for advertising, notifications and purchases, as described below.

1. Information stored only on your device

The following is saved locally on your phone (using your device’s local storage) and is not transmitted to us or any server:

  • Your test history, scores and pass/fail results
  • Bookmarked questions, “mistakes” and progress statistics
  • Your streak and chosen test date
  • App settings (theme, text size, language, reminder time, and other preferences)
  • Your premium-unlock status

You can erase this information at any time using Settings → Reset progress / Reset settings, or by uninstalling the App.

2. Information collected by third-party services

To provide ads, optional notifications and purchases, the App uses the third-party services below. These services may automatically collect certain information, such as a device or advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system, and basic usage or diagnostic data.

3. How information is used

  • To run the App and remember your progress and preferences on your device.
  • To display adverts to users who have not purchased the ad-free upgrade.
  • To process and restore your in-app purchase.
  • To send study reminders, only if you turn them on.
  • To keep the App secure, prevent fraud and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Advertising and your choices

Free users see adverts provided by Google AdMob. Depending on your settings and location, ads may be “personalised” (based on your advertising profile) or “non-personalised”.

  • If you are in the UK, EEA or another region that requires it, the App will ask for your consent before serving personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking).
  • The simplest way to remove ads entirely is to buy the one-off premium upgrade in the App.

5. Notifications

The App can send a daily study reminder. This is optional and off by default. You can turn reminders on or off in Settings → Study, or in your device’s notification settings.

6. Data retention

Data stored on your device remains until you reset it within the App or uninstall the App. Data held by the third-party services above is retained according to their retention policies (linked in the table).

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for adults preparing for the Life in the UK Test. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by law in your country.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for personalised ads. Because most of your data lives only on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly by resetting data in the App or uninstalling it. For requests relating to data held by us, contact us using the details below.

10. International transfers

The third-party services we use may process data on servers outside your country. Those providers commit to appropriate safeguards for such transfers (see their policies linked above).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, in the App.
